Responsibility Overload Is Stressful - Solutions

Business professionals at smallbusinessadvocate.com admit the main problem many people face with stressful jobs, is huge stress directed by responsibility overload. Too much on your shoulders at one time and so much more.

When you are stressed out you aren't a good manager, business owner, or worker, according to Psych Central. When you have too many commitments on your plate the first thing you've got to do is recognize this so you can improve your time management, reduce information and responsibility overload, and ease the pressure.

Step One - Have a look at your responsibilities and see where you can cut back. At work perhaps you can ask to have someone help you with a project, or delegate one aspect of your job to someone else so you can free up some time to keep your workload manageable.

Stop and look at your daily home responsibilities and figure out where you can ease the load. Look closely at your personal responsibility that make your job tougher. Maybe you are involved in too many charity cases and just don't know how to say no to people that ask for favors.  Perhaps there are things at home that you don’t like or aren’t good at that you can off load to a professional.  Something like mowing the lawn, cleaning your house or paying your bills. Open your mind to making changes.

Step Two - Say no and mean it. For some people it's really hard to say no and when people know this, you're going to wind up with more projects and more pressures on yourself. There are ways to politely let people know you really are too busy to help them out and they will understand.

Step Three - Schedule your free time. This may sound a little weird but experts from psychology.com stress how important it is to make sure no matter how many hours you are working, that you make time to do the things you love to do. And this doesn't include cleaning and cooking and paying bills. Make time to get some exercise, go to the movies, read a book, take a walk in the park, meditate, or take a quick trip. Even if you are just heading down the street for a coffee it's important to take time out each day for you.

Responsibility overload is something you can reduce but you've got to recognize it first and commit to take action. Ball's in your court.
